WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth (MD-03) issued the following statement after President Trump’s Joint Session Address.

“After over a year of the President side-stepping and thwarting the will of Congress, I believe it was important for me to be present at the State of the Union and re-assert Congress’s role as a co-equal branch of government. Simply put, there are parts of any job you may not enjoy, but attending the President’s address to Congress was part of my job.

Casework Success Story

I completed the MD Unemployment process, and never heard back about the status. I contacted your office for assistance. I received a call from MD Unemployment about two weeks later. My issues were resolved. Your representative was lovely to work with. Thank you!

Casework Success Story

I reached out to your office to assist with having my mother's ashes interred at Arlington Cemetery, which was significantly delayed due to back logs and the government shut down. Since we were not requesting a burial ceremony, we asked if the interment could be expedited, so that my mother could reach her final resting place without further ado. Happily, we are now scheduled to inter my mother's ashes alongside my father's that is already in a columbarium at Arlington on January 16, 2026.
