Appropriations Requests

Community Project Funding Requests

Since the 117th Congress, the House Appropriations Committee has included Community Project Funding as part of available Appropriations Requests. This initiative allows Members of Congress to target federal funds towards projects and programs that will address the most significant needs facing the communities they represent. Only state, local, and tribal governments; publicly owned entities (such as ports or universities); and eligible non-profits are permitted to request and receive Community Project Funding.

In past years, Members of Congress have been allowed to submit up to 15 requests for their district across the available accounts and agencies at the discretion of the chair.

My resource guide, found below, outlines the Community Project Funding process and my office's application. It also presents the most up to date information and available accounts in a robust and clear format.

The House Appropriations Committee has not yet released its official guidance for FY 2027. Please note that the FY 2027 guide above reflects FY 2026 guidance. Once the newest guidance has been released, this guide will be updated.

Programmatic & Language Requests

Each year, the United States Congress considers and enacts annual appropriations bills, which provide the federal government with the funding it needs to operate. These bills fund numerous activities, including government operations, medical research, national defense, infrastructure, and education. Aside from Community Project Funding, Members of Congress may make requests to the committee that are Programmatic in nature, or for Language changes.

Programmatic requests include funding for specific federal programs that are important to you or your organization. Language requests include specific policy directives to federal agencies.

While we have not received formal guidance or deadlines from the House Appropriations Committee, my legislative team has begun its process of reviewing and prioritizing FY 2027 requests. If you would still like to submit an FY2027 request, please use the below form. The deadline is March 13, 2026.
