WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth (MD-03) voted against H.R. 22, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. The SAVE Act changes voter registration guidelines to require documentation that indicates proof of U.S. citizenship without including marriage licenses or name change documents in the list of approved documents.

“Cuts to critical government programs that our children, seniors, and most vulnerable Marylanders rely on should never be on the table. In Maryland’s Third District alone, 133,467 people rely on Medicaid for their health care, including nearly 60,000 children and 9,000 seniors. An additional 66,000 people rely on SNAP to put food on the table for their families.”

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth (MD-03) honored Maryland firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty. Among these first responders are Mark Falkenhan, a Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighter and Secret Service Agent, Nathan Flynn, a Howard County Firefighter, and Captain Josh Laird from Frederick County. Elfreth spoke today in support of the three of the five investigators at the Firefighter Fatality Investigation Program who were fired by DOGE and the Trump Administration.
