Elfreth Statement on H.Res.488, “Denouncing the antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado”

June 11, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth (MD-03) released the following statement on her vote on H.Res.488, “Denouncing the antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado.”

“The overwhelming purpose of H.Res.488 was to condemn the horrific antisemitic attack in Boulder, Colorado where a man threw 18 Molotov cocktails injuring 15 peaceful protesters. My Republican colleagues intentionally added a singular line in the resolution to praise ICE in order to politicize this condemnation of antisemitism and terror.

“Let me be clear: the President’s use of ICE in Los Angeles, around the country, and in our own community, is a cruel overreach of his Executive authority. The deployment of the National Guard and Marines only escalated tensions and put more American lives at risk.

“I am deeply committed to standing with our immigrant community here in Maryland and am actively assisting and supporting dozens of constituents and families who have been unfairly and cruelly impacted by the President’s weaponization of ICE.

“I am using every tool at my disposal to fulfill Congress’s oversight role over Executive Branch agencies, including ICE.”
