Elfreth Releases 2025 End-of-Year Review
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth (MD-03) released her End-of-Year accomplishments. Since January 3rd, 2025, Elfreth has been laser-focused on serving constituents on their hardest days, introducing legislation to improve the lives of all Marylanders, and hearing directly from constituents by phone, mail, and in-person across the District.
“It has been an honor to serve you and all our neighbors who call Maryland’s Third District home in Congress,” said Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth. “2025 has been a particularly challenging year for Marylanders as we faced unprecedented attacks on our federal workforce by DOGE, the longest government shutdown in history, challenges to the rule of law, immigration, health care, and so much more. But my team and I have been hard at work since day one, fighting for legislation to lower costs and better the lives of everyone who calls Maryland’s Third Congressional District home.”
In her first year, Elfreth prioritized working across the aisle whenever possible to introduce legislation that addressed the most pressing issues for Marylanders, including introducing the first bipartisan bill aimed at combating the actions of DOGE. During the shutdown, Elfreth led on multiple pieces of legislation to help our federal workers make ends meet. As Vice Ranking Member of the House Natural Resources Committee, Elfreth introduced bipartisan legislation to protect the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, like the first-of-its-kind MAWS Act to combat the large invasive blue catfish population in the Watershed. On the House Armed Services Committee, Elfreth advanced more provisions in the annual defense spending bill than any other first-year member of Congress. Her 28 provisions support our servicemembers, expand health care for veterans, and help grow Maryland’s economy.
