ANNAPOLIS, MD – Yesterday, Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth (MD-03) hosted a second Maryland Third Congressional District Constituent Resource Fair in Anne Arundel County. The first Resource Fair was held in Howard County this past May and featured representatives from 19 agencies. Elfreth and her team were joined by 26 federal, state, local, business, and nonprofit partners, covering a range of services from workforce development to health care, veterans affairs, and more.

“First and foremost, my team and I are here to help our neighbors with any issue they face at any level of government, and these resource fairs are just one way we can connect them to the services they need. From our first resource fair to the thousands of cases that my team handles day in and day out – the need for community services and support is clear, especially as we grapple with the aftermath of DOGE, the weaponization of ICE, skyrocketing costs, and so much more,” said Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth. “I want to extend a sincere thank you to all of our partners who joined us and for their continued commitment to serving our community on their hardest days. This work is never done alone.”

Elfreth and her team have also provided casework assistance to constituents on a range of issues with federal agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, Social Security, immigration agencies, and the IRS. To date, Congresswoman Elfreth’s team has closed over 3,000 constituent cases and returned over $4 million directly to constituents.

The second Constituent Resource Fair included representatives from Senator Shaneka Henson’s Office, the Office of the Comptroller of Maryland, the Maryland Insurance Administration, the Maryland Department of Labor, the Maryland Department of Veterans & Military Families, the Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development, the Anne Arundel County Community Action Agency, the American Kidney Foundation, Comcast, the City of Annapolis - No Harm, the City of Annapolis - Hispanic Community Services, the City of Annapolis - Naptown Anti-dope Move(meant), BGE, Chamber of Mothers, the Housing Commission of Anne Arundel County, American Red Cross, the Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency/Crisis Response System, the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities, the Anne Arundel County Office of Community Engagement & Constituent Services, the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works, the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation, Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks, HealthCare Access Maryland, Anne Arundel County’s Sheriff Office, the Chief Administrative Office - Office of Talent and Development, and the Chesapeake Children’s Museum.

“Too often, the biggest barrier between someone and the help they need isn’t a lack of resources-it’s a lack of information. That’s why community collaboration matters so much. My office cannot reach every family on our own. We need neighbors, nonprofits, and local organizations partnering with us to spread the word,” said Senator Shaneka Henson, D30, Annapolis.

“When Marylanders have questions about home loans, student loans, or banking (including online banking apps), they deserve answers,” says Antonio P. Salazar, Commissioner of Financial Regulation in the Maryland Department of Labor. "Our office helps consumers know their rights, avoid scams, file complaints, and find the right resources. We are pleased to join community partners at events like this to help Marylanders access the support and information they need."

“As the nation's leading nonprofit fighting kidney disease, the American Kidney Fund (AKF) works across the country to engage communities and raise awareness about kidney disease, and we are thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of Rep. Elfreth's community resource fair,” said LaVarne A.
